As many of you know, I have been heavily involved in the Tea Party Movement that is sweeping the nation. I have been working as the nationwide event coordinator scheduling tea parties across the country. As of right now, we have 350+ tea parties scheduled and many more that are in the process of being scheduled. Not to long ago, during the very beginning of this movement, I started a social networking site for Tea Party Patriots that can be found here. This networking community of Tea Party Patriots has grown tremendously within the past three weeks. As the Tea Party Movement grows more each day and gains more momentum each day, I wonder what the future holds for all Tea Party Patriots involved in this historic grassroots movement. What is the potential for this movement?
With that said, several of us are working to determine the long term vision of the Tea Party Patriots and the Tea Party movement. The movement started as a grassroots gathering and we want to continue to grow and expand while utilizing the resources and intelligence of our grassroots Tea Party Patriots. Keeping this in mind, please answer the following question.
You can answer the questions here in the comment section of the blog or you can go to the Tea Party Patriots community to share your thoughts on this discussion.

What role do you see Tea Party Patriots and the Tea Party Movement playing influencing the solution?

Any great movement comes to a point in time where its next action is most critical. The Tea Party Movement is at that point. What will happen on April 16th? Does the movement just keep having gatherings? Will the people keep showing up?
ReplyDeleteHere’s my suggestion: Hold a rally/gathering at the state capitols of every state. Hold this event 30-60 days from next weeks event. Doing this so soon keeps the people involved and motivated.
Should the state level rally be successful then stage a rally in Washington DC. Stage this event within 30-60 days out. Once agin, this will keep the people motivated.
I believe that at some point there must be organized leadership or this movement will fall apart. Too often I have seen these type of political movements fall apart because they lack cohesion. While I agree this movement does not need to be co-opted by the RNC it does need leadership. Total lack of leadership in a movement is called anarchy. Anarchy by it’s very definition is doomed to fail.
